Pedroia seeking fifth All-Star Game nod

BOSTON -- Though things haven't gone well for the Red Sox the first 10 months of the season, second baseman Dustin Pedroia continues to play at a high level on both sides of the ball. In the latest round of results for the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot, which was released on Monday, Pedroia ranked fifth at second base in the American League with 1,210,882 votes.

Pedroia, a four-time All-Star, trails Omar Infante, Jose Altuve, Jason Kipnis and Ian Kinsler.

The man Pedroia teams with on double plays for the Red Sox -- shortstop Xander Bogaerts -- is having a solid season on both sides of the ball, but he fell out of the top five this week.

Hanley Ramirez, who cooled off after a monster April, is 11th among outfielders.
