Bundy scratched from AFL start with forearm tightness

BALTIMORE -- Orioles No. 2 prospect Dylan Bundy was scratched from Monday's Arizona Fall League start with right forearm tightness, and he is considered day to day for now.

O's director of player development Brian Graham said there aren't any tests scheduled for Bundy, who returned to game action last week for the first time since May, as the organization is obviously hoping this is just a minor setback.

But anything with Bundy is always concerning as the righty has had a rough few years. Following Tommy John surgery that caused him to miss the 2013 season, he pitched 41 1/3 Minor League innings in '14 as he was brought back slowly. A full go this spring, Bundy threw only 22 innings before he was shut down with right shoulder soreness following a May 21 game for Double-A Bowie.

Bundy was cleared to begin throwing by Dr. James Andrews last month, and after a throwing program in Sarasota, Fla., he was added to the Orioles' AFL roster on Oct 22. Bundy made two appearances, an inning apiece, for the Peoria Javelinas with no reported issues before he was scratched from Monday's start.

This is a pivotal offseason for Bundy, who is out of Minor League options this spring. That means if he doesn't make the team's Opening Day roster (and is healthy), he could be exposed to waivers.
