O's Bundy will pitch in Arizona Fall League

Dylan Bundy will pitch in the Arizona Fall League after all.

Bundy, who has not appeared in a Minor League game since May, was added to the Peoria Javelinas' roster on Thursday. Bundy took the spot of injured Orioles pitching prospect Jon Keller.

Bundy joins the AFL with roughly four weeks remaining, and it's a positive sign of progress in what has been a rough few years for the young right-hander. Bundy missed the entire 2013 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, and he logged just 41 1/3 innings in '14, as the organization brought him along cautiously.

Bundy only threw 22 innings during the 2015 season -- his last coming on May 21 for Double-A Bowie -- before he was shut down with right shoulder soreness. He was cleared by Dr. James Andrews earlier this month to begin throwing, and Bundy had been making steady progress at the team's spring facility in Sarasota, Fla.

This is a pivotal winter for Bundy, who is ranked by MLB.com as the Orioles' No. 2 prospect, as he'll be out of Minor League options next spring. That means if he doesn't make Baltimore's Opening Day roster, he will be exposed to waivers.
