Eight Royals to compete for Peoria in the 2013 Arizona Fall League

The Arizona Fall League and the Kansas City Royals today named eight players from the Royals organization who will compete for the Peoria Javelinas in the 2013 Arizona Fall League. Prospects from the Astros, Mariners, Padres, Phillies and Royals organizations make up the Peoria squad. The Javelinas will train and play home games at the Royals complex in Surprise due to renovations at the Peoria Sports Complex. 

The Royals prospects are right-handed pitchers Jason Adam, Angel Baez, and Malcom Culver, left-handed pitcher Noel Arguelles, shortstop Orlando Calixte, third baseman Cheslor Cuthbert and outfielders Lane Adams and Jorge Bonifacio. Adams will be available to play on Wednesdays and Saturdays as a member of the taxi squad.

2013 marks the 22nd season of the Arizona Fall League, created by Major League Baseball in 1992 to serve as an off-season league for top prospects. The season will begin on Tuesday, October 8, with the Rising Stars Game set for November 2 and the Championship Game scheduled for November 16.
