MIAMI - Marlins Ayudan will host an e-waste recycling event on Saturday, September 28th from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. at Marlins Park as the team takes on the Detroit Tigers. Fans can bring old, broken, used, or outdated electronics and earn four (4) free tickets to Saturday's Marlins game vs. the Detroit Tigers. The event will take place at Marlins Park on the West Parking lot- W3.

E-waste includes cell phones, computers, TVs, game consoles, printers, VCRs, stereos and radios. Items containing Hazardous Waste of any type will not be accepted. For more information, fans can contact the Miami Marlins at (305) 480-1300 or [email protected].

In addition to the e-waste recycling event, the Marlins have instituted a food recovery program in conjunction with Rock and Wrap It Up! and Levy Restaurants. Since mid-August the Marlins have delivered more than 4,500lbs of food to the senior center at the Robert King High Towers across from Marlins Park. Food is collected after each event and stored at the Ballpark. Each morning after an event, Levy and the Marlins weigh the food and transfer it to the Robert King High complex where it's sorted for distribution to the residents. Rock and Wrap It Up! has established similar programs with more than 60 professional sports teams from the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB.
