Ellsbury on track to be activated Wednesday

The Yankees are on the verge of getting Jacoby Ellsbury back in their lineup.

Ellsbury, on the disabled list since May 20 with a right knee sprain, is scheduled to be activated from the disabled list for Wednesday's game against Oakland at Yankee Stadium.

The center fielder will not play in another Minor League rehab game first. Instead, Ellsbury participated in simulated game activities on Monday and will do the same on Tuesday. He already played four games with Class A Advanced Tampa, the last on Sunday, going 2-for-13 with a strikeout.

Ellsbury hasn't played for the Yankees since May 19. In 37 games this season, the 31-year-old is hitting .324/.412/.372 with four doubles, one home run, six RBIs and 14 stolen bases in 19 attempts.
