Hosmer caught in All-Star vote; Perez tops AL

SEATTLE -- Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer has been caught by Detroit's Miguel Cabrera in All-Star voting, but the Royals still have seven would-be starters.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, July 2, at 10:59 p.m. CT. For the first time, voting is exclusively online, where fans may submit up to 35 ballots.

Cabrera has 9,342,149 votes to Hosmer's 8,013,745.

Royals center fielder Lorenzo Cain also was caught by the Angels' Mike Trout for the lead among outfielder votes. Trout has 9,148,142 to Cain's 9,079,146. Alex Gordon of the Royals is third with 7,810,995. Alex Rios of the Royals is fifth with 5,658,024 votes.
