A's trade O'Flaherty to Mets

OAKLAND -- The A's traded left-hander Eric O'Flaherty and cash considerations to the Mets for a player to be named or cash, the club announced Tuesday.

O'Flaherty, who was designated for assignment on Saturday, was 1-2 with a 5.91 ERA and .312 opponents' batting average in 25 relief appearances with the A's.

Lefties hit .186 against him, while righties hit .420. He has a 2.99 ERA in 419 career appearances.
