• Team player rep Matt Moore said they are still trying to settle on a suitable date to make up the May 2 game vs. the Royals that was postponed due to snow in Kansas City. Moore said the two dates currently on the table from the Rays side are June 3 and July 29. Moore noted that if they picked, July 29 is the date the Rays like best.

"[The Royals] were just giving us some input," Moore said. "I'm pretty sure the final say so is up to them anyway."

• Luke Scott, who is no stranger to the outdoors, smiled when asked which of his teammates had the best ensemble for the current road trip, which has a camouflage theme. Scott said Fernando Rodney's Ghillie suit was impressive. He also liked Joel Peralta's "redneck" look and Kyle Farnsworth's "Army digital" camouflage, and he gave kudos to Sam Fuld for looking like an Army recruit. Rays manager Joe Maddon said that Roberto Hernandez looked like "something out of Forrest Gump" and noted, "I actually thought Sam Fuld was Forrest Gump."

• Maddon said that the decision for who will fill David Price's spot in the rotation for Monday's start is still to be determined. He noted that the team will have to make a decision by Sunday morning. Jake Odorizzi, who came to the Rays in the trade that sent James Shields to Royals, is the top candidate, but Maddon said that Alex Torres and Chris Archer are still strong possibilities. Torres joined the team Thursday and pitched out of the bullpen in Thursday night's game.
