Dodger legend and broadcaster Fernando Valenzuela visited Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) today and distributed toys

Los Angeles - Dodger legend and broadcaster Fernando Valenzuela continued his offseason community work today when he visited with patients at Children's Hospital Los Angles (CHLA). Valenzuela also distributed toys to each patient he visited. Valenzuela's CHLA visit is part of the Dodgers' Season of Giving, a community-focused campaign that seeks to improve the lives of children in Los Angeles throughout December.

The Dodgers visit CHLA every year. Last holiday season, both Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig made two separate visits to patients at CHLA. As part of the Dodgers' Pitching in the Community caravan, Dodger Alumni League members Ron Cey, Kenny Landreaux, Matt Luke and Dennis Powell visited CHLA in January. Puig also visited CHLA at the start of the season, in April. Former Dodgers Drew Butera and Dee Gordon visited CHLA in June.

CHLA has been named the best children's hospital on the West Coast and is among the top five in the nation for clinical excellence with its selection to the prestigious U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll. CHLA provides more than 104,000 children with pediatric health care in a setting designed for their needs.
