Fowler sits from lineup with pain in finger

TORONTO -- Still suffering pain from being hit by a pitch on his right ring finger Thursday, Rockies center fielder Dexter Fowler was not in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Blue Jays.

Fowler went 0-for-3 with a walk Monday night in a 2-0 loss to the Blue Jays, and batting against the Jays' right-handed starter Josh Johnson was unpleasant. The switch-hitting Fowler hit from the left side, and hanging onto the bat with his right hand was difficult. With a man on base late in the game, Fowler resorted to a bunt attempt. He ended up drawing a walk.

"The left side is probably a little tougher because on the right side he can probably take his top hand off the bat," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said.
