Moustakas' at-bat in 6th inning inspires Royals great
KANSAS CITY -- Before pushing ahead in the 14th inning for a 5-4 victory in Game 1 of the World Series, the Royals were trying to come back in the bottom of the sixth. Mets starter Matt Harvey was trying to choke off the rally and preserve what was a one-run lead Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium.
Kansas City had scored once and had the potential tying run on second base in Lorenzo Cain. But there were also two outs, so Harvey could see a way out of trouble.

In the Royals' executive box, vice president of baseball operations George Brett had a feeling that Harvey wasn't going to escape that easily. Or maybe the Hall of Famer was offering a plea to the baseball gods. Even though he hadn't tweeted in 34 days, @GeorgeHBrett accessed his Twitter account, typed in four words and sent.
Moose right man up.
Moments later, right on schedule, Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas took two pitches out of the strike zone before lining a changeup back up the middle to tie the score at 3.
That came shortly after Moustakas contributed with a nifty defensive play to save a run in the top of the inning.

Yoenis Cespedes and Lucas Duda had started it with singles against Royals starter Edinson Volquez. With one out, Cespedes scored and Duda advanced to second on Michael Conforto's sacrifice fly, making the score 3-1.
It looked as though the Mets would add to their lead when Wilmer Flores followed with a sharp grounder down the third-base line. But Moustakas dove to his right, made the stop and then was able to recover in time to nip Flores at first.
