Giants honor victims, firefighters on 9/11
SAN FRANCISCO -- On the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the Giants paid tribute to the victims and first responders from that tragic event Wednesday with a pregame ceremony at AT&T Park.
A video from the 9/11 Memorial played on the park's big screen just moments before the national anthem, which was performed by Michaela Donohue, the daughter of San Rafael firefighter Chris Donohue.
Crispen and O'Leary traveled to New York on the first commercial flight available out of San Francisco after the attacks and assisted in the rescue efforts. They used vacation time and bought their own airline tickets, joining a group of friends and coworkers in the effort.
