Minor Leaguer Jones suspended 50 games

Giants Minor Leaguer Ryan Jones has been suspended for 50 games without pay after testing positive for an Amphetamine, which is a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Jones' suspension will be effective at the start of the 2014 season. The second baseman is currently on the roster of the Class A Augusta GreenJackets of the South Atlantic League.

Jones, 23, was a 13th-round pick out of Michigan State in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft. He hit .336 in 42 games with Class A Salem-Keizer last season.
