Giants to celebrate 2012 U.S. Open Championship with special events at AT&T Park

2011 Champion Rory McIlroy to throw out first pitch on Irish Heritage Night - June 12; Dustin Johnson to participate in TaylorMade Golf expo at AT&T Park and throw out first pitch - June 13

The San Francisco Giants will celebrate the United States Golf Association's 112th United States Open Championship when it arrives in San Francisco at the historic Olympic Club the week of June 11th.

On Tuesday, June 12th (Giants vs. Astros) the Giants will hold their annual Irish Heritage Night special group event featuring a limited edition Rory McIlroy bobblehead. McIlroy is the defending 2011 U.S. Open Champion and ranked number two in the world. He will be at AT&T Park to celebrate his heritage and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

A special event ticket is required to obtain the bobblehead and attend a pre-game party featuring cultural food and drink in Seals Plaza from 5-7 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from these ticket sales will go to the Irish Immigration Pastoral Center.

On Wednesday, June 13th (Giants vs. Astros), the Giants have partnered with TaylorMade Golf, the leading performance golf brand in the world, to create an unique golf expo featuring one of the world's top 20 golfers and longest drivers in professional golf, Dustin Johnson. Fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive a Giants logo driver cover. Johnson will hold a golf exposition, for media and invited guests only, prior to the Giants batting practice. He will also throw out the game's ceremonial first pitch. Fans can visit O'Doul Plaza for interactive golf exhibits from TaylorMade Golf.
