Giants welcome Diamondbacks and Rockies to town

Homestand features: Strike Out Violence Day, Fiesta Gigantes and Star Wars Day

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - The World Champion San Francisco Giants return to the Shores of McCovey Cove for a seven-game homestand against the Arizona Diamondbacks, September 5-8, and the Colorado Rockies, September 9-11.

On Thursday, September 5, the Giants will host Filipino Heritage Night, presented by Ligo Sardines. Special event ticket holders will receive a Filipino themed Giants drawstring backpack. The pre-game party in Seals Plaza from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. is open to the public and will feature Filipino band, The Mango Kings. Proceeds from each special event ticket sold will be donated to local non-profits in the Filipino community. All fans will be able to enjoy cultural performances on the field prior to the game.

Also on Thursday, September 5, Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval has teamed up with The American Football Coaches Association's National Child Identification Program in providing Child Identification kits that will be distributed from the community clubhouse. Prior to the game, the AFCA will present Pablo with an award for his work in the community and commitment to protect children. Established in 1997, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) created the National Child Identification Program to provide parents and guardians with a kit that records their children's physical characteristics, fingerprints and DNA.

Friday, September 6, is the third annual Bill Graham Tribute Night at AT&T Park. Fans who purchased a special event ticket will receive a collector's edition Bill Graham poster. Partial proceeds from the event will help support the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.

Saturday, September 7, is the Giants annual Fiesta Gigantes celebration, sponsored by Coors Light. Special event ticket holders will receive a limited edition Gregor Blanco 'Perfect Catch' bobblehead. All fans are invited to enjoy the free Fiesta Gigantes pre-game event from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Terry Francois Boulevard, which will feature performances by various cultural bands, including Gabrielle Sepulveda, The Montuno Dance Company, Café Canela and Rocio y su Sonora. Partial proceeds will be donated to the Milagro Foundation. The first 20,000 fans will also receive a Giants Orange Sombrero, presented by State Farm.

Also on Saturday, September 7, the Giants Community Fund will host its annual silent and live auction. The silent auction will take place at the Community Clubhouse on the promenade level. Following the game, the live auction will be held on top of the Giants dugout.

It's also KNBR's Weekends in the Park on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8. Marty Lurie and Patrick Connor will broadcast live from the patio at Public House, leading up to Giants Pregame Show on KNBR 680.

Sunday, September 8, is the Giants 16th annual Strike Out Violence Day at AT&T Park in partnership with the Giants Community Fund, the San Francisco Sheriff's Department and the Family Violence Prevention Fund. It is a day in which fans are asked to remember the importance of working together to stop violence in our communities and homes. Survivors of violence, violence prevention grant recipients and Junior Giants Strike Out Bullying art contest winners will be recognized on the field in a pre-game ceremony. Volunteers will also be selling $2 raffle tickets for the annual Jerseys Off Our Giants benefitting Casa de las Madres, a residential shelter for abused women and their children.

Also on Sunday, September 8, the Giants will host their third annual Star Wars Day. Fans with special event tickets will receive aBuster Posey Clone Booblehead. Following the game on Sunday, all kids 14-years and younger are invited to come run the bases, presented by See's Candies.

Monday, September 9, is Elvis Presley Tribute Night at AT&T Park. Special event ticket holders will receive a collector's editionGiants themed Elvis figurine. Proceeds from each special event ticket sold will benefit the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. Throughout the night fans can enjoy in-game entertainment and activities themed around Elvis. In addition, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Giants themed Elvis Presley poster, featuring Sergio Romo, Javier Lopez, Jeremy Affeldt and Jose Mijares. .

On Tuesday, September 10, the Giants will host Irish Heritage Night. Fans who purchase special event tickets will receive an Irish themed Giants striped hat. The pre-game party in Seals Plaza from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. is open to the public and will feature Irish band, Extended Roots, the Healy Irish Dancers, and a performance by Celtic Voices. All fans will be able to enjoy cultural performances on the field prior to the game.

Also on Tuesday, September 10, the Giants will join forces with the San Francisco Immunization Coalition and San Francisco Department of Public Health to remind parents and students that a whooping cough vaccine (Tdap) is required to attend Public Schools this year. Giants' pitcher Sergio Romo will be on hand at the Castro-Mission Health Center to help promote the importance of this vaccine as well as healthy nutrition and obesity and diabetes awareness in our community.

It is also Say Hey Tuesday as CSN Bay Area will host Yahoo! Sports Talk Live, Giants Pregame Live and Giants Postgame Live from Willie Mays Plaza. Fans are invited to come out early and watch their favorite sports analysts.
