Gibbons set up to employ six-man rotation

KANSAS CITY -- The Blue Jays are now in position to go with a six-man rotation for the immediate future after manager John Gibbons announced that left-hander J.A. Happ will be making a start on Monday against the Phillies.

Right-hander Dustin McGowan earned another start with a three-hit effort over six innings against the Royals on Tuesday and will work on Sunday against Pittsburgh. Gibbons could dial back to a five-man rotation if he sees something he doesn't like in upcoming days or bring up top pitching prospect Marcus Stroman, who has been electric at Triple-A Buffalo.

"We'll pitch Happ on Monday night and see where that takes us," Gibbons said.
