Gibby keeping lineup close to vest

SYDNEY -- It sounds like while the D-backs' lineup for the first game of the Opening Series on Saturday is still a work in progress, a few spots are locked in.

First baseman Paul Goldschmidt will hit third as expected and the pitcher Wade Miley will hit ninth.

The only other piece D-backs manager Kirk Gibson was willing to reveal was that third baseman Martin Prado was all but certainly going to hit cleanup.

"He's arguably our best pure hitter," Gibson said.

Gibson initially tried hitting Prado in the second spot last year, but did not like the way Prado tried to take the ball to the opposite field every time.

Gibson then moved Prado down in the order, and he began driving the ball more.
