Gordon reportedly in line for All-Star bonus
CLEVELAND -- Alex Gordon's berth on the American League All-Star team has quite a payoff, according to the Associated Press.
The AP reports that Gordon's contract includes a clause that, by making the team, gives him automatic $500,000 raises in each of the next two seasons. That's a million bucks.
"Honestly, I have no idea," Gordon said.
Gordon is in the second year of a four-year deal that guarantees him $37.5 million plus a player option for 2016 at $12.5 million.
"I let my agent take care of that and I just go out there and play baseball," Gordon said. "I have my contract at home and I'm going to have to look at it. It probably has a bunch of dust and everything on it. I haven't even looked at it."
He might find some gold under that dust.
