Hamstring tightness Victorino's latest nagging injury

CHICAGO -- Shane Victorino keeps coming back from nagging injuries, only to have another one crop up. It happened again in Monday's 6-4 loss to the White Sox, as the right fielder had to leave the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with tightness in his left hamstring.

Victorino wrenched his back and neck on a collision at Fenway Park on May 12, and he somehow was back in the lineup two days later. The veteran then re-aggravated his back at Tropicana Field last week and missed the first two games of a weekend series against the Twins.

Given all the bumps and bruises he has had of late, it would not be surprising if Victorino is held out of Tuesday night's game against the White Sox.

"It seems like if it's not one thing, it's another right now," Victorino said. "That's what's frustrating for me. What is it? I just want to get back to being healthy and being out there and being a healthy player and feeling good. I don't think this is anything serious, nor do the trainers. We'll see how it feels tomorrow and go from there."

Victorino wonders if all of his aches are connected.

"I'm just going to see how it feels tomorrow," Victorino said. "We don't want to make it worse and the next thing you know I pull my hamstring and make it a lot worse than it should be. It was a precautionary matter to take me out of the game. It's extremely frustrating, that's all."

Victorino aggravated his hamstring going from first to third in the top of the sixth. When Victorino went out to take his position in the bottom of the sixth, manager John Farrell followed him and ultimately took him out of the game.

"Day to day," Victorino said. "You know, given all that he's been dealing with, we'll stay on the cautious side of that."
