Astros miss out on insurance run after losing challenge

PHOENIX -- Bo Porter lost a challenge in the eighth inning of the Astros' 4-3 win against the D-backs on Monday night at Chase Field.

Second baseman Jose Altuve tried to score from second on a single by Jon Singleton to right field. D-backs right fielder Gerardo Parra threw home, and Altuve adjusted his path to avoid being hit by the ball.

D-backs catcher Miguel Montero applied the tag, and home-plate umpire Marty Foster called Altuve out.

After the review, the call on the field was confirmed, ending the inning.
