Iglesias returns to action after two games off

KANSAS CITY -- Shortstop Jose Iglesias returned to the Tigers' lineup on Sunday after missing the opening two games of the weekend series against the Royals with shin splints in both legs.

He made his presence count right away with a two-run homer that put the Tigers on the board in the third inning.

Counting the off-day on Thursday, Iglesias had a three-day break since leaving early in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox because of shin splint soreness.
