Tribe tinkers with first-pitch time for some '15 games

CLEVELAND -- The equipment truck has arrived in Arizona, many players have already reported to Cleveland's spring complex and the first workout is right around the corner. There are signs all around that baseball season is nearly here.

On Thursday, the Indians took another step toward the regular season with the unveiling of their 2015 broadcast schedule. All 162 Tribe games will be televised, and the team will be experimenting with a new first-pitch time for a select number of contests.

Cleveland will begin its season on April 6 in Houston, where the Astros will host the Indians in a three-game series leading up to the Tribe's home opener on April 10 at Progressive Field. Cleveland's home-opening clash with the division-rival Tigers is scheduled to start at 4:10 p.m. ET, and it will be televised on SportsTime Ohio and broadcast on WTAM 1100-AM and across the Indians Radio Network.

The Indians will have 158 of their games televised on STO, while FS1 (three games) and FOX (one) will pick up the remaining tilts. FOX is scheduled to air Cleveland's June 27 road game against the Orioles nationally. ESPN is also slated to carry two national broadcasts of Indians games (April 6 at Houston and Aug. 17 at Boston).

WTAM 1100 AM will carry 161 of the Indians' games, while WMMS 100.7 FM is planning to air 144 contests.

As a way to guard against potential weather conflicts, the Indians will also have a select number of weekday games with a 6:10 p.m. ET start time. The April 27-29 games against the Royals and May 12-13 games against the Cardinals will use the new first-pitch time.
