Indians recall RHP Frank Herrmann from Triple-A Columbus
CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced RHP FRANK HERRMANN has been recalled from AAA Columbus. To allow room on the 25-man roster the Indians designated INF JOSE LOPEZ for assignment.
Herrmann, 28, has spent the entire 2012 season to date with the Clippers where he has gone 2-2 with 7 saves (9 chances) and a 4.28 ERA in 39 relief appearances (48.1IP, 51H, 23ER, 13BB, 53K, .274AVG). He is averaging 9.9 strikeouts per 9.0IP and has a strikeout to walk ratio of 4.1 (53K/13BB). Over his last seven outings since July 21 he has posted an ERA of 1.23 (7.1IP, 3H, 1R/ER, 6K). Frank wears #56 and will be in uniform tonight when the Indians take on the Twins at 7:05PM ET in Progressive Field.
Lopez has hit .249 (53-213) with 13 2B, 4HR & 28 RBI in 66 games over two stints with the Indians this year. The 40-man roster is now at 37 players.
