Indians select RHP Trevor Frank in eighth round of MLB Draft
In the 8th round (231st overall) the Indians selected RHP Trevor Frank from the University of California-Riverside.
The senior, 6'0", 195-pound right-handed pitcher went 4-2 with 10 saves and a 2.45ERA in 26 relief outings (44.0IP, 37H, 12ER, 9BB, 44K, .215AVG). He is currently on the mid-season watch list for the ninth annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball, and recently posted a string of 22.2 consecutive innings w/o allowing an earned run for the Highlanders. The El Cajon, CA native is a 2009 graduate of Valhalla High School.
