Indians Sign CA Omir Santos

The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has signed free agent CA OMIR SANTOS to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League spring training camp.

Santos, 31, split 2012 between the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies organizations, hitting a combined .310 (63-203) with 16 doubles, 2 home runs & 30RBI in 61 games between Triple-A Toledo and Triple-A Colorado Springs.  He also appeared in 3 games for the Tigers big league squad, May 30-June 5, before latching on with Colorado.  Santos has appeared in 121 Major League games with the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Detroit since 2008 and was named to the TOPPS Rookie All-Star team in 2009 with the Mets, hitting .260 (73-281) with 14 2B, 7HR & 40RBI in a career-high 96 games.
