MINNEAPOLIS -- Twins reliever Casey Fien, on the 15-day disabled list since April 30 with a right shoulder strain, threw a 30-pitch bullpen session without any issues on Sunday.

Fien threw all of his pitches and said the plan is to throw another session on Wednesday before starting a rehab assignment. He said he's still not sure where it will be just yet, but he'll likely head out on Thursday or Friday.

"It went awesome," Fien said. "I let it go a little bit. Threw 30 pitches. I threw everything. Since I've been playing catch I've been throwing everything just to make sure everything feels good. So everything went well and we have a plan now."

Outfielder Oswaldo Arcia, on the DL with a right hip flexor strain since May 4, has been swinging in the cages, but isn't quite ready to take live batting practice.

"He's running, and swinging in the cages and so forth," Twins general manager Terry Ryan said. "The next step is to get him on the field, which will be this week."

Reliever Tim Stauffer, who has been on the 15-day DL with a right intercostal strain since May 1, was scheduled to throw three innings in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, but lasted just 1 1/3 innings. Stauffer gave up two runs on four hits and two walks. The Twins are still deciding the next step for Stauffer.
