Bradley Jr. continuing to impress for Red Sox

MIAMI -- Another day, another tremendous catch by Jackie Bradley Jr. And even more relevant in the big picture is that Bradley had a second straight strong game at the plate.

In a 5-4 loss to the Marlins in 10 innings, Bradley's heroics were the top storyline of Tuesday for the Red Sox.

One game after his breathtaking basket catch in Detroit, Bradley sprinted back to the wall in left to make a dazzling leaping grab to take extra bases away from Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria in the bottom of the fourth.

Knuckleballer Steven Wright, the beneficiary of Bradley's latest highlight-reel snag, could be seen on the television replay saying, "That's unbelievable."

Per usual, Bradley was the least impressed by his catch.

"Just a ball that was hit hard," said Bradley. "Just happened to get a good bead on it and make a jumping play."

Which play was harder: The one Sunday or Tuesday?

"None of them [were] hard," Bradley said.

After drilling a homer and a triple amid a five-RBI performance in Detroit on Sunday, Bradley had a triple and a single in his first two at-bats on Tuesday.

"It's nice to see Jackie get to do well," said bench coach Torey Lovullo. "Here's a guy who has been working hard. He's been working hard for this moment. He deserves it. We all know he's capable of doing it and he's finally having the results from all that hard work he's put in. The catch. The at-bats. They've been very, very consistent."

Just prior to Bradley's single in the fifth on Tuesday, he nailed a foul ball off his right foot but was able to shake off the pain and stay in the game. Bradley was the everyday center fielder for the Red Sox the last two weeks while Mookie Betts was on the disabled list. But when Betts returned on Tuesday, Bradley slid over to left.

"I mean, I'm not selling it short at all but what I've seen him do is something else for me," said Betts. "Just watching him, it's just what Jackie does. It's amazing and it's an honor really to go out there and play with him, as good as he is out there."
