Jays' Bautista shows off his arm to Royals

TORONTO -- Seeing a right fielder throw out a batter at first base is rare enough, but the Blue Jays' Jose Bautista did it in back-to-back games against the Royals in this series.

"The last time we saw it was when [Jeff] Francoeur threw out the guy in Oakland. And I might have seen it three times in the big leagues," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "But to see it twice in one series? That's unheard of."

Francoeur threw out the A's Michael Taylor on Sept. 7, 2011, at Oakland. According to records available at the time, that was just the fifth time a 9-3 putout had been recorded in the American League since 1974.

Bautista got Billy Butler after he fielded a wicked one-hop liner on Thursday night. Then he nailed Omar Infante after smothering his pop fly on Friday night. Butler was chugging hard to first base after his sizzler, but Infante thought his ball went foul and got a very late start.
