'Johnny Football' takes batting practice at Petco Park

Johnny Manziel became the first freshman to win college football's coveted Heisman Trophy.

On Thursday, the Texas A&M quarterback took batting practice with the Padres before their matchup with the Nationals.

Known as "Johnny Football," it turns out Manziel's original love was baseball, and he grew up thinking he'd wind up playing in the Majors. Football eventually took over, though, and Manziel realized his true talent was as a quarterback.

On Thursday, in a custom Padres jersey, Manziel took some hacks at Petco Park before joining the Padres' broadcast team for a chat during the game. He may not be "Johnny Baseball," but the quarterback showed his childhood dream may not have been that far-fetched.
