Jones has second straight walk-off hit at Double-A

Jankowski close to Texas League lead with .340 average and 20 steals

For the second straight game, third baseman Duanel Jones had a walk-off hit for San Antonio as the Padres Double-A affiliate won a fourth straight game.

On Saturday, the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 10th was Jones' first homer with the Missions.

Jones, who was promoted from low Single-A Fort Wayne on May 25, was 1-for-4. He is hitting .300.

Right fielder Yeison Asencio (.281) was 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the 24-30 Missions.

Center fielder Travis Jankowski was 2-for-5 with three steals and two runs scored. He now ranks third in the Texas League in batting average (.340) and on-base percentage (.418) and second with 20 stolen bases. First baseman Luis Domoromo (.205) was 2-for-4. Left fielder Alberth Martinez (.266) was 1-for-2 with three walks.

Starting right-handed pitcher Bryan Rodriguez (3.97 earned run average) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings.

Right-hander Adam Cimber (1.59 ERA) allowed a hit and a walk with a strikeout in a scoreless inning. Right-hander Michael Dimock (1.66 ERA) allowed a hit with a strikeout in a scoreless inning. But right-hander Tayron Guerrero (2.95 ERA) gave up a run on two hits with a strikeout in the ninth to blow the save. Right-hander Aaron Northcraft (1-0, 3.05 ERA) pitched a perfect inning to get the win.

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (26-30): LAS VEGAS 9, Chihuahuas 4 -- LF Alex Dickerson (.304), from Poway High, was 2-for-4 with a RBI. 2B-SS Casey McElroy (.207) was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. CF Melvin Upton Jr. (.280) was 1-for-4. C Rocky Gale (.308) was 1-for-1 with a RBI and a walk. Starting RHP Zack Segovia (1-2, 5.31 ERA) allowed three runs on five hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings. RHP Leonel Campos (4.28 ERA) allowed three runs on two hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings. LHP Scott Elbert (6.52 ERA) allowed two runs without retiring a hitter. LHP Eury De La Rosa (3.66 ERA) allowed a run on two hits with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings.

HIGH SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (25-30): STORM 7, Inland Empire 6 -- Starting RHP Ronald Herrera (4-5, 4.23 ERA) allowed four runs on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts over seven innings to get the win. RHP Eric Yardley (2.22 ERA) struck out one in a perfect inning to get his system-leading 11th save. 3B Gabrial Quintana (.239) was 2-for-4 with his seventh homer run and a sacrifice fly for two RBIs. 1B Marcus Davis (.254) was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. 2B River Stevens (.304) was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a RBI. SS Jose Rondon (.283) was 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored. CF Auston Bousfield (.320) was 1-for-2 with three walks and two runs scored. C Ryan Miller (.319) was 0-for-4 but drove in two runs.

LOW SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (23-32): WISCONSIN 4, TinCaps 2 -- Starting RHP Thomas Dorminy (5-4, 4.30 ERA), who was selected for the Midwest League All-Star Game two days ago, allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings. RHP Yimmi Brasoban (3.09 ERA) allowed a hit with two walks in two scoreless innings. CF Edwin Moreno (.268) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. 1B Trae Santos (.261) was 2-for-4.

DOMINICAN SUMMER LEAGUE PADRES (6-1): Blue Jays 10, PADRES 4 -- CF Dayon Olmo (.345) was 2-for-4 with a RBI. DH Aurelio Perez (.375) was 2-for-4 with a RBI and a double. LF Jaffe Garcia (.417) was 1-for-1 with a triple, a RBI and a run scored. Starting RHP Jean Garcia (0-1, 8.64 ERA) allowed seven runs on eight hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings. RHP Diomar Lopez (2.35 ERA) allowed a run on three hits with five strikeouts over four innings.
