Unique stage show for children, teenagers, and the ‘Kid in All of Us’ slated for the historic Fox Theatre

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers and Radio Disney AM 910 are teaming up to bring the AL Central Division Champion Tigers to the stage at the historic Fox Theatre this Saturday, January 21 for the first-ever Detroit Tigers Kids Convention. Detroit Tigers players Jose Valverde, Doug Fister, Brandon Inge, Rick Porcello, Austin Jackson, Don Kelly, Brennan Boesch, Ramon Santiago, Max Scherzer and Collin Balester are scheduled to appear. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. and the event will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. Tickets are $5 for kids 14-and-under and $10 for adults and are still available at tigers.com/kidsconvention.

"This promises to be a high energy event featuring player interviews, interactive question and answer sessions, video clips and more,” said Tigers Director of Promotions Eli Bayless. "It’s an innovative and fun way for children and teenagers to interact with some of their favorite players and to bring out the kid in all of us."

The Kids Convention will feature plenty of entertaining activities including a game show style competition, a magic show and players answering questions from the audience. Fans in attendance will enjoy face painters, balloon artists, special giveaways and many more exciting activities to celebrate the AL Central Division Champion Tigers! Additionally, all children age 14-and-under will receive a special PAWS “Countdown to Opening Day” poster.

Detroit’s Favorite Mascot, PAWS, will be joined by five of his mascot friends including Muddy and Muddona from the Toledo Mud Hens and Crash from the West Michigan Whitecaps.

Fans are encouraged to bring both still and video cameras to capture the memorable program. Please note that this is a non-autograph event.
