Upton remains in contention for All-Star spot

Padres outfielder sixth in NL voting at position; Norris fourth among catchers

The Padres have been inconsistent this year, but left fielder Justin Upton has been steady for San Diego. Entering Tuesday, Upton was batting .282/.361/.483 with 13 homers and 41 RBIs.

In the latest results for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game, released Tuesday, Upton was ranked sixth among outfielders in the National League with 1,772,347 votes.

Upton is a two-time All-Star, but he has not been selected to participate since 2011.

Derek Norris, whose 26 extra-base hits led all Major League catchers entering Tuesday, is fourth on the ballot with 1,014,286 votes.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, July 2, at 11:59 p.m. ET. For the first time, voting is exclusively online, where fans may submit up to 35 ballots.
