Omaha Storm Chasers (11-16)

Omaha lost its opener vs. Oklahoma City on Friday night. Brett Tomko pitched well in defeat, striking out five while scattering three runs, six hits and two walks over seven innings. Brett Eibner provided the lone Omaha run with a leadoff homer. Johnny Giavotella posted three hits, boosting his average to .370 (27-for-73). Lorenzo Cain (left groin strain) served as the designated hitter in his first rehab appearance, finishing 0-for-4.

NW Arkansas Naturals (11-17)

Northwest Arkansas 8, Springfield 5

The Naturals earned a 2-2 series split at Springfield, breaking a 3-3 tie with four runs in the seventh. Whit Merrifield was 3-for-4, recording three RBIs, a walk and two runs. He tripled home a pair in the seventh. Royals No. 4 prospect Jorge Bonifacio added two hits, an RBI and a run. Tim Melville fanned six while allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks over six innings.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (11-14)

Wilmington evened its four-game set at a game apiece. Jonathan Dziedzic was an out away from a win as he fanned seven and yielded a run, five hits and two walks over 4 2/3 innings. Glenn Sparkman earned the victory, striking out five in 2 1/3 frames. Johermyn Chavez, Zane Evans and Bubba Starling each drove in a run. Starling is KC's No. 8 prospect, while Evans is ranked 17th by MLB.com.

Lexington Legends (12-16)

Lexington 12, Hagerstown 4

Every Lexington batter recorded at least one hit in a series-opening win at Hagerstown. Michael Antonio had three hits, three RBIs and two runs. Ramon Torres added three singles, two RBIs and a run. Jake Junis struck out eight while scattering four runs, 12 hits and a walk over six innings.
