Keuchel, Altuve key to Astros' postseason return

HOUSTON -- Though the results of the Astros' storybook 2015 season were unforeseen, the production the postseason-bound bunch got from its two leaders was not.

Ace and American League Cy Young Award candidate Dallas Keuchel had the best home split of any pitcher in Major League history and was the AL's only 20-game winner, while Jose Altuve, who recorded his second consecutive 200-hit season with a three-hit finale, led the AL with 38 stolen bases and finished third with a .313 average.

:: AL Wild Card Game: Astros vs. Yankees -- Tune-in info ::Keuchel went 15-0 at home -- the first pitcher in modern Major League history to do so -- accompanied with a 1.46 ERA at Minute Maid Park. He'll carry a 20-8 record into Tuesday's AL Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser, airing at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN. He'll start at Yankee Stadium on three days' rest opposite Masahiro Tanaka.

Keuchel's 1.017 WHIP was also tops in the American League, and he faced 911 batters -- the most of any pitcher in the AL.

Altuve is the first player in franchise history to notch two 200-hit seasons, but it's what he did once he got on base that vaulted him to the top. He was the only AL player to steal more than 30 bases, eclipsing that mark for the fourth straight season.
