Lake County RHP Dylan Baker wins Player of the Week honors

The Cleveland Indians today announced that Low-A Lake County RHP DYLAN BAKER has been named the Indians Minor League Player of the Week for June 19-25.

Baker, 21, made one start during the week on June 20 and earned the victory in Lake County's 11-3 win over Dayton. He allowed just 2 unearned runs over 7.0 innings of work, while striking out 6 and walking none (7.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R-0 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO, 26 batters faced). On the season, Baker is 3-5 with a 4.08 ERA (32 ER/70.2 IP), 53 strikeouts, 27 walks and a .248 average against in 13 appearances and 12 starts for the Captains.

The 6-2, 202-pound right-hander was selected by the Indians in the 5th round of the June, 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of West Nevada Community College. Hailing from Roseburg, OR, Baker entered the 2013 campaign ranked as the 17th-best prospect in the Indians organization according to Baseball America.
