• Outfielder Ryan Braun, who was placed on the bereavement list Thursday, isn't expected to return in time to play Sunday, manager Ron Roenicke said. Roenicke doesn't expect Braun's absence for a family medical emergency to be an issue after the All-Star break.

• Roenicke said he spoke with assistant general manager Gord Ash and will discuss with GM Doug Melvin about what to do with left-hander Tom Gorzelanny, who has made a case to stick in the starting rotation after the All-Star break. Gorzelanny has pitched well in his last two starts despite taking the loss in both, allowing two unearned runs and just three hits in six innings of a 2-1 loss Friday.

• The Brewers have signed two more 2013 Draft picks plus a non-drafted player. Left-hander Trevor Seidenberger, a 12th-round selection from TCU, and 32nd-round pick Ryan Deeter, a right-hander from UCLA, are under contract, as is non-drafted shortstop Steven Halcomb from Gonzaga University.

• The Brewers entered Saturday's game leading the Majors in infield hits with 112. All-Star Jean Segura led with 31 and Norichika Aoki followed with 24.
