• Brewers players visited fans in the parking lot prior to Saturday night's game against the Cardinals as part of Fan Appreciation Night at Miller Park. The players were escorted through the parking lot on golf carts and surprised fans with gifts to thank them for their support this season.

• Roenicke said left-handed reliever Tom Gorzelanny, who is working back from a shoulder injury, played catch on Thursday and took Friday off.

"The catch is getting better," Roenicke said. "The plan would be, if everything goes well, to maybe get him in a game, or even if he's got a bullpen [session], at least he feels good going into the offseason. You don't really want him going to the offseason with a question mark."
