LHP Brad Mills Claimed off Waivers by Toronto

Oakland A's left-handed pitcher Brad Mills has been claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays, the club announced today.

Mills was designated for assignment by the A's July 7 following the acquisitions of Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel from the Cubs. He was acquired by Oakland from the Milwaukee Brewers organization in a minor league trade June 17 in exchange for cash considerations and was selected by Oakland June 20. The 29-year-old left-hander went 1-1 with a 4.41 ERA in three starts for the A's. Prior to joining Oakland, he had spent the entire season at Triple-A Nashville where he went 4-2 with a 1.56 ERA and .190 opponents batting average in 14 games, including 12 starts.
