Angels agree to Minors deal with lefty LeBlanc
ANAHEIM -- The Angels agreed to terms with left-hander Wade LeBlanc on a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training on Monday.
LeBlanc, 29, was released by both the Marlins and Astros last season. He posted a 5.18 ERA in 13 games (seven starts) in Miami, a 4.71 ERA in 19 games (seven starts) for the Astros' Triple-A affiliate and also made four relief appearances for Houston.
A second-round Draft pick by the Padres in 2006, LeBlanc compiled a 4.22 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 2.08 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 65 games (48 starts) from 2010-12. He joins right-hander Chris Volstad as Minor League additions this offseason, as the Angels look to add pitching depth while waiting on the talent in the lower levels of their farm system to develop.
