Freese gets vote of confidence from Scioscia

ANAHEIM -- David Freese, who got two hits as the DH on his 31st birthday Monday, was back at third base Tuesday.

Ian Stewart had started seven of the previous 10 at third, with Freese (.173) playing DH most of those.

"He's our third baseman," Scioscia said of Freese. "We need him in there. ... He will get there [offensively]. His at-bats are getting better."

Scioscia said part of Freese's slow start is the adjustment to the AL, and part of it is mechanical.
