Lowrie back in A's lineup after being hit by pitch

MINNEAPOLIS -- Despite taking a bounced pitch to his lower right leg Monday, Jed Lowrie was in the A's lineup for Wednesday's middle matchup of a three-game set in Minnesota.

Lowrie was in significant pain after getting hit by the pitch from Twins righty Samuel Deduno, but Tuesday's team off-day proved enough rest for the infielder.

Lowrie is the A's only player who has started all eight games, and he's reached base safely in each of his last six games, going 6-for-17 (.353) with seven walks in that span.

The shortstop is a .317 career hitter in the month of April, which is his best average for any month of the season.
