Bochy happy with Giants' attitude in workouts

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- With the imminent start of the Cactus League season ending the workouts-only phase of Spring Training, Giants manager Bruce Bochy praised his players' diligence.

"As much as anything, it's an attitude," Bochy said Monday. "I love the way the guys have gone through the drills. It's been crisp."

Tuesday will be a transition day, featuring a three-inning intrasquad game involving mostly rookies and players with less than a year of Major League experience. Outfielder Gregor Blanco is the lone veteran performing for either team. The organization's two top pitching prospects will start against each other: Right-hander Kyle Crick (rated No. 32 on MLB.com's Top 100 Prospects list) and left-hander Edwin Escobar (No. 95).
