Machado, Jones need plenty of All-Star help

BALTIMORE -- Manny Machado is having a career year, while perennial All-Star Adam Jones is vying to make another trip to the Midsummer Classic, but both of them need some help. Machado remained fourth among American League third basemen and Jones was seventh among outfielders in the final update of the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot released prior to Sunday's Selection Show.

Machado had 1,938,478 votes announced Monday afternoon, behind Nick Castellanos of the Tigers (2,076,933), Kansas City's Mike Moustakas (10,372,868) and leader Josh Donaldson of the Blue Jays (11,738,206). Jones, at 5,626,318 votes, will need a late surge to overtake the Royals' Alex Gordon, who's third with 8,934,052 votes. But Jones is recovered from a right shoulder injury and returned to the O's lineup on Sunday.
