Mariners activate RHP Tom Wilhelmsen from 15-day disabled list

RHP Dominic Leone optioned to AAA Tacoma yesterday.

SEATTLE, Wash. -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced the following roster moves which will be in place for tonight's game vs. the Oakland Athletics:

Tom Wilhelmsen, RHP, activated from 15-day disabled list (hyperextended right elbow)

Dominic Leone, RHP, optioned to AAA Tacoma (May 7)

Wilhelmsen, 31, has made two appearances this season allowing 5 hits and 2 runs in 2.2 innings (6.75 ERA) with Seattle. He threw 25 pitches in a simulated game on Wednesday in Anaheim. His placement on the disabled list was retroactive to the day following his last appearance (4/10 at Oakland).

Leone, 23, was 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA (5 ER, 8.1 IP) with 4 strikeouts in 8 appearances with Seattle after being recalled on April 13. Before his recall with AAA Tacoma he made one appearance, facing three batters in 1.0 scoreless inning April 10, striking out one.
