Walker throws two innings in rehab start

Mariners' top prospect Taijuan Walker made his second rehab start on Tuesday night, going two innings for Triple-A Tacoma in a 13-4 victory at El Paso.

Walker, ranked No. 5 on MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list, is working back from a shoulder injury that has kept him on the disabled list for the first two months of the season. He threw 56 pitches and struck out four, allowing one run on two hits and four walks.

After Walker departed, outfielder Jabari Blash, the Mariners' No. 18 prospect, homered in three straight plate appearances.

After homering in the third, fifth and sixth innings, Blash came up in the eighth inning with a chance to become the fourth player in Pacific Coast League history to hit a home run in four consecutive at bats. But he struck out and ended the night 3-for-5 with a career-high seven RBIs.

Blash began the season with Double-A Jackson and moved up to Tacoma in late April. He has hit eight home runs in 29 games since the promotion.

Between the two levels, Blash is hitting .222/.346/.487 with 13 home runs in 54 games this season.
