Marlins announce 2016 Spring Training schedule

Pitchers & Catchers first workout on Feb.19; First Full-squad workout on Feb. 22

The Miami Marlins today announced their 2016 Spring Training schedule, which consists of 19 games at Roger Dean Stadium, including 15 home games and four road games against the St. Louis Cardinals.

In their 14th spring at Roger Dean Stadium, the Marlins will open their exhibition schedule on Tuesday, March 1, hosting the University of Miami at 1:05 p.m. Overall, the Marlins will play a total of 28 Grapefruit League games, with home games in Jupiter against the Cardinals (three times), Mets (three times), Nationals (three times), Yankees (March 8), Braves (March 10), Tigers (March 19), Red Sox (March 22) and Twins (March 24). The team will close out the Grapefruit League portion of their schedule on Wednesday, March 30 vs. St. Louis.
 
Marlins pitchers and catchers will have their first on-field workout on February 19, following physicals that morning. The first full-squad workout will take place in the afternoon on February 22, following morning physicals for position players.
