Mets announce '16 Spring Training schedule

NL champs begin Grapefruit League play on March 3

The Mets will open their Spring Training schedule with a March 3 game against the Nationals in Viera, Fla., before opening their home Grapefruit League slate the following day against the Marlins in Port St. Lucie.

In total, the Mets will play 29 Spring Training games, including 14 home games at Tradition Field. The March 4 game against the Marlins is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET.

Season and group tickets along with special ticket packages, including the Yankees, Red Sox and weekend games, will go on sale Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. at mets.com/spring. Single-game tickets will go on sale Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. More information is available at mets.com/spring.

The Mets will host the Yankees on March 9, and they will travel to Tampa to take on their cross-town rivals on March 22 at 6:35 p.m. The Mets will also play the Red Sox on March 20 in Port St. Lucie.

Overall, the defending National League champions will play the Nationals six times; the Marlins six times; the Cardinals five times; the Braves three times; the Tigers, Red Sox, Yankees and Astros twice; and they will travel to play the Blue Jays on March 23 in Dunedin.

The Mets also announced the 2016 Amazin' Getaways Spring Training packages with three separate departures from New York scheduled for March 4, March 11 and March 17. All packages include hotel accommodations, rental car and game tickets. The March 4, March 11 and March 17 packages also include an exclusive pregame brunch and meet and greet with a Mets player.
