Mets sign top 2 Draft picks Lindsay, Wotell
TORONTO -- The Mets announced the signing of their top two Draft picks on Thursday, second-round outfielder Desmond Lindsay and third-round starting pitcher Max Wotell. Both players will report to the organization's Rookie-level Gulf Coast League affiliate.

The Mets have now signed 10 of their 39 picks.
Lindsay, 18, signed for his full slot bonus of $1,142,700, according to MLB.com's Jim Callis. He earned MVP honors for the 17-and-under World Wood Bat Association National Championship last year after batting .387 with three home runs and 10 RBIs, also playing his high school ball at the Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, Fla.
"I grew up watching Mets games with my grandmother," Lindsay said in a statement. "Playing professional baseball has always been a dream but playing for the Mets is amazing."
Wotell, also 18, was named the 2015 Gatorade North Carolina High School Baseball Player of the Year after going 14-0 with 144 strikeouts in 81 innings at Marvin Ridge High School. The left-hander signed for an above-slot value of $775,000, per Callis.
"It really hasn't sunk in yet," Wotell said. "It's unbelievable and I'm incredibly excited to be a Met, definitely a dream come true."
