Mets set for rematch of '06 NLDS with LA
Clubs will be squaring off in the postseason for the third time
It's official: The Mets and the Dodgers will meet in the National League Division Series beginning Friday, Oct. 9, on TBS. The Dodgers joined New York in the postseason Tuesday, clinching the NL West with an 8-0 win over the Giants.
The location of each game in the series is yet to be determined, however, as the Mets currently lead the Dodgers by a game for home-field advantage. The Mets also own the tiebreaker by virtue of a 4-3 win in the season series. Watch the remaining regular-season games on MLB.TV.
This will be a rematch of the last time the Mets made the postseason, when New York swept the Dodgers, 3-0, in the 2006 NLDS prior to its NL Championship Series loss to the Cardinals.

Only two players from those 2006 teams will be in uniform this year: the Dodgers' Andre Ethier and the Mets' David Wright. While Ethier made just two appearances in the '06 NLDS -- as a defensive substitution and a pinch-hitter -- Wright played a key role in Game 1, hitting a two-run double in the sixth inning of the Mets' 6-5 win.
New York and Los Angeles have met in the postseason one other time, in the 1988 NL Championship Series, which the Dodgers won, 4-3, en route to a World Series championship.
The Mets will have to contend with quite the one-two punch in Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke, who both are in the running for this year's NL Cy Young Award. New York has faced the duo four times this season, batting just .155 (16-for-103).
